Multi-day Voyages

Earn continuing education credits on a three-masted schooner. Professional development voyages aboard the S/V Denis Sullivan challenge teachers to live and work aboard a traditionally rigged schooner. As expert providers of experiential education programs, educators on the S/V Denis Sullivan specialize in getting teachers out of the classroom and inspiring them to share these experiences with their students.

You sail along with professionals in ecology, conservation, and history. A course on the S/V Denis Sullivan will give you a new passion and excitement for teaching, experiential education training, and a wealth of knowledge to take back to the classroom.

The S/V Denis Sullivan is modeled on a traditional vessel but is equipped with the technology for a cutting-edge, hands-on study of ecological systems. Journey the open waters of Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes. Sail to Copper Harbor and Isle Royale along with Rolf and Candi Peterson, Wolf/Moose ecologists, the leaders of the longest Predator/Prey research study in the world. This hands-on program explores the use of Great Lakes' land and water resources, conservation, and the history of Lake Superior.

Graduate or continuing education credits are available through George Mason University, Michigan Technological University, or the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

It’s not too early to plan for next summer. Programs on the S/V Denis Sullivan have limited capacity and will book fast.
