2008 Anniversary Gala JULY 26, 2008


Come and celebrate Discovery World's 25th Anniversary, July, 26th 2008, at our Anniversary Gala.

This spectacular evening located on Milwaukee's lakefront will feature:

  • A wide variety of entertainment, special guests, dancing under the stars,
    and the return of Streetlife performing in the Pilot House
  • Ice martini bar
  • Silent auction premier
  • Caricature artists
  • Bartolotta's gourmet dinner
  • and Fireworks!

Discovery World is proud of our commitment to providing experiential learning and educational programming to people of all ages in Milwaukee and around the world. In 25 years, hundreds of thousands of young people and their families have benefited from hands-on technology exhibits and educational programs.

Since the grand opening of our new facility in September 2006, Discovery World has:

  • Attracted more than 350,000 people to our hands-on exhibits, educational programs and the S/V Denis Sullivan
  • More than 15,000 members enjoy our attraction with their families again and again
  • Completed the world-class Helen Bader Foundation's Great Lakes Future exhibit
  • Opened the Milwaukee Area Technical College-sponsored HIVE (Human Interactive Virtual Education), the only total immersion virtual reality experience open to the public in the United States.

Discovery World continues to focus on the connection between the natural world and the human-made world, as well as the important role freshwater resources play in our regional and global economy.

During the first quarter of 2008:

  • Discovery World will build the Briggs & Stratton's Milwaukee Muscle Exhibit
  • "Energy and Ingenuity" Exhibit sponsored by the Wisconsin Energy Foundation will be launched

Additionally, we will show tens of thousands of young people that science and engineering are fun, interesting and are important career paths that can help them have an impact on the world around them.

Discovery World is living up to its promise to be the preeminent experiential learning center in the United States.
