It doesn’t get much sweeter than a 100th birthday party. And such was the case on October 3-4 as the Greater Milwaukee Foundation celebrated its centennial by opening up Discovery World for the entire community. Amazingly, over 28,000 people took advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
“That’s what this program is about,” said Discovery World CEO, Joel Brennan. “The Greater Milwaukee Foundation is allowing people and families to do things together. It can make the fabric of families stronger and it makes us a stronger community.”
Throughout the weekend visitors were able to enjoy the entire museum including the Reiman Aquarium and Kohl’s Design It! Lab at no cost. New additions such as The Music Factory and Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body served as some of the most popular exhibits. Please check out the video below for some first-hand accounts from this amazing weekend.
From all of us at Discovery World, and the entire community, thank you Greater Milwaukee Foundation!
