Summertime in Milwaukee is filled with plenty of fun events, festivals, and activities. Discovery World’s beautiful lakefront location means that some of these events will cause a few road closures that may affect your travel time to and from the museum.
Have no fear; however, as there is always a way to get to Discovery World for some exciting family fun! We have a few tips and tricks for navigating your way down to the museum and some important dates to keep in mind.
The brand new road leading straight to our front door for access from Clybourn Street and Lincoln Memorial Drive is now open! This will also allow direct access to our parking garage and should cut down on some traffic flow. Further, the new Lakefront Exit off of I-94 East is a quick and direct exit that will lead you straight to Discovery World in time for your summer camps, weekend visit, or family sail. All of these options will help you navigate to and from the museum in a timely fashion.
Please be aware of these important dates where traffic flow may be impeded:
- June 10: Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run –Lincoln Memorial Dr closures from 6-10:30am
- June 28-July 9: Summerfest – Expect more traffic and less parking around the city. Park at Discovery World!
- July 23: NML Roots & Wings Run – Lincoln Memorial Dr closures 6:30-9:30am
- September 16: Briggs & Al’s Run & Walk –Lincoln Memorial Dr closures from 9:30am-1pm
