Every inventor needs a place to tinker. The Rockwell Automation Lab has the workspace and equipment for exploration of electricity, robotics, and automation. From wireless power to nanotechnology, students will learn how their world is built.

Intro to Robotic Programming

Discover how robots interpret information while reacting to their surroundings. Students write and install programs that help a LEGO® Mindstorms® NXT robot to travel and navigate.

Max 20 students per session.

Intermediate Robotic Programming

Take introductory robotic programming skills to the next level. Students learn how to use loops, switches, and multiple sensors to write and install programs that help a robot to navigate an obstacle course.

This class may be combined with Intro to Robotic Programming to form a 90-minute combined experience.

Max 20 students per session. Prior knowledge or experience is required.

Experiment with resistors and other circuit components in this interactive lab. Investigate how we harness and control electricity to make it work for us.

Squishy Circuits

45 min
Electricity, Conductivity, Circuits

Use bendable, moldable conductive materials made from dough to explore electricity and circuits.

The conductive dough used in this lab does contain wheat. If you have any students who are touch-sensitive to gluten, please let us know and gloves will be provided.
