The S/V Denis Sullivan

The Denis Sullivan is Wisconsin’s Flagship, a re-creation of a 19th century Great Lakes schooner that provides students with a floating classroom that concentrates on field science, environmental issues, and stewardship of the natural world. The Denis Sullivan will only be here during warm weather, most often late May to mid-October.

Deck Tours (30min)

Get a guided tour of the S/V Denis Sullivan.

Maximum: 50 participants (students + adults)
Appropriate: All grades

Cost: $3/student; $3/adult; 1 adult/every 10 students: FREE

Lake Watch Expeditions (2-3hrs)

2 hour or 3 hour sail on Lake Michigan. During the sail, students will rotate through educational stations about marine issues.

Maximum: 45 participants (students + adults)
Appropriate: 3rd grade+

  • 2 hour sail cost: $1,200/session
  • 3 hour sail cost: $1,800/session
Eco-Coast Sail (4 hrs)

4 hours of sailing and learning on the S/V Denis Sullivan.

Minimum: 24 participants
Maximum: 50 participants
Appropriate: 9th grade+

Cost: $100/person

Overnight Adventure Sail

Overnight sail where students become a part of the crew.  6pm-8am. Breakfast included.

Maximum: 20 participants
Appropriate: 9th grade+

Cost: $3,500*

Science Under Sail (3-14 days)

3-14 day voyages where students become a part of the crew with an opportunity for port stops. Meals and bunking included.

Rate: $4,000/day with a 3-day minimum required*
