Come aboard Discovery World’s tall ship – and the flagship of Wisconsin – on a trip like no other. From Monday, September 3rd to Friday, September 7th, the S/V Denis Sullivan will depart from her port in Milwaukee, WI to explore Lake Michigan in the way of ancient tall ships: By sail! The direction of the wind will determine our course; we may make for the sweeping sand dunes of the shores of Michigan around Muskegon, the historic South Manitou Island state park and lighthouse, or the stunning coast of Wisconsin’s famous Door County. Nature herself will determine our course and the S/V Denis Sullivan’s captain and crew will sail you there.
The S/V Denis Sullivan is a traditional sailing schooner, built authentic to the vessels of the 1800’s that made the Midwest what it is today. On this sail you can join the crew for the adventure of your life and take part in setting sails, taking watch and hauling on lines, or you can come along to enjoy the pleasure of sailing as you can only find aboard a tall ship; the choice is yours!
Cost includes the culinary delights of the schooner’s full-time chef, as well as parking at Discovery World.
Passengers must board the Sullivan by 0900 (9am) on Monday, September 3rd. The ship will either be docked on the East or South Dock of Discovery World. The ship plans to arrive back at Discovery World around 3pm on Friday, September 7th.
